5 Ways to Celebrate Halloween with Your Dog

Halloween is here! Trick-or-treating, costume shopping, spooky decorations, scary movies, and many more haunting activities accompany it. Being a pet parent, you must want to include your pet in the Halloween celebrations, and are probably looking for ways to do it safely. Look no further, because we’ve come up with a list of the most fun ways to have the spookiest and most fun Halloween with your dog.

1. Pre-Halloween Preparations

Before the Halloween arrives, start getting ready for it! Decorate your home, plan costumes, make spooky items, and shop for candies and many more things. Pre-Halloween preparations can include taking your pet and family out to buy pumpkins. Make a whole day out of buying and carving the pumpkin, it can be a great bonding experience for you and your pet. Let them help, if they seem eager. Get your doggo his/her favorite treats as well, it’s festival time! You can also hand out pet treats along with the candies this Halloween.

2. Howl-o-ween Party!

Plan an amazing party for your friends and neighbors; ask them to bring their pets along. Have the fun spookiest themed party in the honor of your dog. Keeps those treats ready for them and have fun dressing up your pup for the party. Dressing up on Halloween is half of the fun; if you got it, haunt it!

3. Trick-or-treating

If it’s Halloween, you cannot forget trick-or-treating. Take your dog around the neighborhood to get them all the pets and treats from everyone. Dogs love to get all that attention; this will make them very happy.

4. Adopt a pet

If you don’t have a pet to celebrate your Halloween with, adopt one and spoil them will all the love and care you can on this holiday. If you already have a doggo at your house, get them a younger sibling, bringing a new member in the house is just as fun!

5. Halloween Surprise

Surprise your local pets or pet shelters with treats and new toys. This holiday season can bring the pets waiting for home happiness too. If you don’t have the time to do it, you can get them delivered from the affordable online pet supplies store - OurPetWarehouse.

Remember

It’s all play and fun, only until everyone is enjoying it. You can have loads of fun, but it might not be the same for your dog. We all know that not all dogs like loud noises and new faces. At such times pets can get agitated when brought to a party or taken trick-or-treating. If you plan to go out, make sure your pet is left with someone you trust, and if you take them with you, be sure to bring their necessities along. Candies are dangerous for your pup, so keeping them away will keep them safe. Even costumes can be dangerous, so if dressing up your pet makes them feel uncomfortable, try loose headgear or a scarf instead.

Being a paw-rent you will have to take measures to ensure that your pet gets to enjoy the holidays as much as you do, in their own way!
